I know this is obvious to most, but unfortunately it’s not obvious to the most impressionable…the players. And I mean youth right up to college players. Instagram and Tic Tok are significantly damaging our game. I’m sure there will be some that say “us old dudes are not allowing fun.” I call bull on that. I’m talking about trash mouth dugouts towards opponents, bat flipping and pimping every home run…basically anything outrageous to be recorded and then posted to get likes and shares. In other words…“look at me!” On the other hand, many players have no idea how to play hard, play for their team, have below average sport IQ and situational awareness. They have very little toughness and play with low energy…but boy can they talk trash and pimp home runs…lol. So I guess that’s fun?
