Because I haven’t seen/heard it said anywhere College Baseball is NOT in the player development business — they are in the winning business. “Potential” does not matter to coaches whose jobs are on the line each year. The sport is drastically different than minor league baseball

@AramLeighton8 @BurgersAndDogss UCL tears occur when you exceed the max threshold of what the UCL can take. The chart clearly shows there is more clearance from that threshold with non-fastballs/sweepers. Not hard to understand.

@AramLeighton8 @conor_mcpherson Leaning on an 80mph changeup in that game allowed him to throw that many pitches and see no negative effect in his career afterward. That game is not the golden example of pitcher abuse. Trying to bring up a 7 day IL stint from two years later is grasping at straws.

@conor_mcpherson @AramLeighton8 Valgus torque (layback) is the primary contributor to elbow stress while varus torque (acceleration through release) contributes more to posterior shoulder stress because those muscles have to slow the arm down.

@zaboog1 @AramLeighton8 Is torque the only primary factor to arm health in terms of throwing motion? Would that explain why kids are taught to limit breaking balls to save their elbows?

@zaboog1 A changeup is only slower because of the grip, it’s still the same strain on your arm. He had a shoulder issue last year and his command has not really been the same since, but that’s besides the point. Nobody should ever be asked to throw that many pitches if an MLB team won’t.

All these videos of European football fans in the U.S. really show that there is literally zero enmity between Europeans and Americans in real life. It’s just idiots sitting at home hating on each other online.
I haven’t seen a single Scot in Boston or a Czech in Texas (or anyone else, for that matter) say a single negative word. And Americans love them too.
I think this World Cup is one of the best things that has happened to the USA in the past few years.
