How many people in Taiwan care about Sun Yat-sen today? Very few, of which many are seen in this footage. The indifference towards Sun is complete in Taiwan, apart from a small number of people that are already KMT devotees. Symbolic ceremonies like this shows that Cheng Li-wun's visit to China is mot aimed at creating peace in the Taiwan strait or even win over voters in the upcoming local elections. Rather, it's about signalling as a part of the power struggle within the KMT itself, and for China of course a massive propaganda opportunity domestically as well as globally.
