Pleased to attend Poland’s National Day Reception. My friend Tomasz- Polish Chargé d’affaires spoke of economic & security cooperation, Poland and Europe’s role in the region & the urgent need to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza & seeing an end to Israeli operations there.

Breaking India has attacked Pakistan, firing missiles at 9 sites, in Pakistan and Kashmir Pakistan says they will respond. Pakistani flights have been diverted.

Diplomats very near & dear to my heart Their Excellencies Ambassadors of, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, South Africa , Angola & Kyrgyzstan it was a pleasure having you at our Iftar for the diplomatic community & 5th year anniversary.

Brother George, again your humanity has always been inspiring, you have given everything to be on the right side of history including your political career. I do not speak for the government, but I will say this. I have received hundreds of messages and replies in the past hour from people infuriated with what is happening in Gaza, what I believe to be misplaced anger. Qatar has allocated well over 1.5 billion USD to Gaza, paid the salaries & subsidized Government employees, medical staff. Paying salaries of 40,000 teachers a month. H.H. The father Amir was the first Arab leader to visit Gaza. Hosted a Hamas office for 13 years- yes in coordination with the west but this small nation has been punching above its weight and using every tool at its disposal to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians. Countless Palestinian injured civilians and relatives of martyrs are in Doha. Al Jazeera played a major critical role in getting the message of Gazans to the world. Countless Al Jazeera journalists have been killed delivering that message. This is just the public facing aspect. Again, I do not speak on behalf of government, but when there are internationally coordinated drills, there may be aspects where changes are not an option especially when commitments have been made. This was a multinational exercise involving several countries. Qatar’s participation was not in coordination with Israel, nor did it imply cooperation or normalization. These types of international exercises often include a wide range of countries, some of which may not have direct ties or shared political views. The Qatari position remains unchanged, Qatar continues to be one of the strongest supporters of Palestine, both on the ground in Gaza and in international arenas.

@zaidmalhamdan @AlJazeera Brother Zaid: it is black and white. The Israeli planes your air force were drilling with were dripping with Palestinian blood - and the blood of @AlJazeera crews. It does take place every year. But it should not. Some of your neighbours understand that.

I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that Qatar just flew drills with the same Israeli Air Force which murdered and maimed so many of their heroic @AlJazeera reporters and crews. It's literally inexplicable. At least it will be on the Judgement Day I suspect. #Gaza

This year, our annual Iftar for the diplomatic community coincided with our 5th year anniversary. We were proud to host over 70 Ambassadors, Diplomats & heads of diplomatic missions in addition to friends from government, media & business leaders, to focus on what brings us closer, present Armasite’s milestones, while enjoying a dining experience curated by Qatari Chef Hamad Al-Hajri. Proud to highlight the representation by friends at @USEmbassyDoha - a testament to the bond between Qatari private sector & the US. Friends, Deputy Chief of Mission Stefanie Altman-Winans, Commercial Counsellor Janelle Weyek, & Senior Commercial Advisor Juan CATRIL it was a pleasure to have you. I must conclude by highlighting @USAmbQatar Tim Davis ‘s role. I was able to witness the Ambassador at work firsthand at the ISOA conference recently, at the Web Summit & many other opportunities. He has been a trailblazer in continuing to strengthen US-Qatari partnerships- we have a strong belief that Tim has successfully cloned himself to be able to operate at this level.
