I just made a big decision as a 4th-year college student in Nigeria (LAUTECH) student building @shopydash I’m going ALL IN on building in public here on @x Every single day (sometimes every moment) I’ll drop real updates * Every new feature I ship * Every activity happening inside the app * Users gained per day + per month * Transactions, listings, and student wins * The good, the bad, the “this broke at 2am” moments No fake hype. Just raw student-founder reality. Current baseline (as of April 6, 2026): ~ 136 users ~ 163 + listings Still no real transaction yet; we are getting there. Goal: 10,000 users +5,000 real campus transactions by Dec 3 Let’s see how fast we can grow @shopydash into the default marketplace for LAUTECH (then every Nigerian campus). Who’s in this journey with me? * Drop a reply if you’re a student seller/buyer * Tag a course mate who needs this * Reply with your biggest campus hustle problem shopydash.com | app.shopydash.com #buildInpublic #shopydash #LAUTECH #campushustle #studentsellerNG

“Based on their impact on building infrastructure, attracting investment, and scaling high-growth startups, the TOP FIVE most impactful TECH FOUNDERS in Nigeria are Iyinoluwa Aboyeji (Andela/Flutterwave), Olugbenga Agboola (Flutterwave), Tosin Eniolorunda (Moniepoint), Tayo Oviosu (Paga), and Shola Akinlade (Paystack).”

This has been shared for some mid-level and senior level roles. But when Frank posted it it only got 50 RTs. We all know what we are doing. People just want to pull down and criticise and destroy without lifting a finger to build anything. Don’t get me wrong, criticisms are great but when they become malicious, then, something is wrong. Perhaps being sponsored?

Unfortunately, no one, as in nobody has come up with an accurate salary structure in Moniepoint.

The attacks on Moniepoint and its Founder has been ongoing for days. As I always say, facts are stubborn and we must always stick with the facts. Moniepoint has built a reputation for rewarding talent, investing in people, and maintaining a compensation structure that reflects both performance and market realities. Before unfairly criticising a company that is creating jobs, scaling rapidly, and contributing to the Nigerian economy, it’s only fair to ensure the information being shared is accurate. Moniepoint remains one of the few companies in the fintech sector raising the bar!

CEO and founder of Moniepoint, a Unicorn says he is struggling to fill 500 vacancies, he didn't say he is downsizing or laying off workers. He said there is an education, skill and attitude mismatch. What is the outrage for? You want to prove that he is not right, set up your business and employ people too. In fact pay them more than Moniepoint. It's good for our economy. The man has created over 3,000 full time jobs, 20,000 sales agent and 800k POS agents. I am sure he is top 5 employer of tech labour in Nigeria outside MTN, Interswitch and Andela. He has dev boot camps and women in tech development pipelines. Put your money where your mouth is, Twitter fingers. Employ 50 Nigerians and pay them more than what Moniepoint pays. Take 500 Nigerians and train them . Talk is cheap, do something.

Tosin Eniolorunda and his co-Founder are Nigerian trained. All of the day one guys at Moniepoint are Nigerians and most of them are still with the company and doing very well. Moniepoint employ, in total, almost 30,000 Nigerians. They are a top employer in NIGERIA 🇳🇬. They pay a minimum of 75% percentile of the market. Junior Developers earn N1M monthly. Most earn N3M and some earn N4M monthly. They have people who earn around N10M monthly! Moniepoint remains one of the highest transacting companies in AFRICA. They are a world-class company. And if Moniepoint did not exist, Nigeria would have gone to CHINA, completely. Tosin must have spoken from a place of deep passion and pain because human capital in Nigeria is low. I have tweeted about this several times as well. Yes, we have good talent, but when you look at the larger population of the country, we have so much work to do. This is a FACT! By the way, Moniepoint has paid some employees a million dollar in stock options (IN CASH). And there are at least 15-20 people who work with Moniepoint in Nigeria who are dollar millionaires! So, to say they underpay or they take advantage of cheap labour is redundant and lazy talk. Again, criticisms should be fair and balanced. But Business Leaders should never shy away from shedding light on challenges across the country. PS: MONIEPOINT HAS PRODUCED A GEN Z A BILLIONAIRE!! JULIAN DUMEBI DURU IS ALIVE AND WELL, AND HAS TOLD HIS STORY. He was a Product Manager, then a Software Architect, before the final promotion to Principal Engineer all at Moniepoint 👏🏽👏🏽.

Are you saying right now, that you know a senior developer at Moniepoint that’s not more than to 1M? I won’t even ask you for proof, I’m just asking you to reply YES or NO.

Before I tweet anything, I do research and actually ask people questions, especially when I don’t have internal info. A junior associate who’s a frontend engineer at Moniepoint sent me a screenshot alert of his last salary payment directly from his bank app. When I initially asked him for his pay, he said it’s not a fixed figure because they add bonuses that are not fixed, and he went ahead to send the last salary payment screenshot from his mobile app. I’ve trained so many engineers in Nigeria, like a lot. Probably one of the top three largest tech training institutions in the country. I know HNG is number one. So when someone says there’s no good talent in the country, I’m also not happy about it. But I need you to know that we’re a growing ecosystem. So many people reading this tweet right now cannot point to 10 desktop engineers they know, or five game developers. You probably don’t even know 10 motion designers too. I’m not saying we don’t have them. I’m saying that you, reading this right now, probably can’t name them because you don’t know them. There’s also a huge responsibility for large companies to invest in training and employee pipelines. That’s why I also complained about the Dangote issue last year. We have a problem, and we need to agree on that. But Nigerians are also hardworking and technically global. We can’t deny that, and we should not undersell it. If you’re reading this and you know a junior technical associate in Moniepoint who’s earning below 1M. Please DM me proof, and I’ll legit add a follow up tweet to my initial tweet and apologise.

“Owner of Moniepoint’s statement is biased. There’s a major problem with employers in the Nigerian system, they don’t want to pay well, yet they expect highly skilled workers. I have over 15 years of work experience, and I can confidently say Nigerian employers are not impressive. The first time I got a job, I only had my secondary school certificate, yet I worked alongside BSc holders — and I was the first person hired out of nine applicants. Why? Because the boss had an international mindset. I came in with little experience, but he made it clear he wasn’t focused on CVs alone — he wanted someone who could deliver. So, when you come out to say Nigerian employees lack skills, the question is: who is doing the hiring? Are you recruiting the right people? You can’t hire content creators or influencers, place them in a corporate role, and expect the same level of delivery as trained professionals. — Lady to Tosin Eniolorunda, CEO of Moniepoint, over his recent statement
