@Pirat_Nation A would of course would require internet on both devices. The home console must be therefore on standby, not off, and limits to the game that's inserted. B would require unique keys on every disc and defeats a major point of physical. Not needing accounts and internet to play.

Microsoft is working on a new system called Positron that could let Xbox players turn their physical game discs into digital copies. The idea is simple: you put the disc in your console or drive, the system checks that you own the game, and then it adds a digital version to your Xbox account. Once converted, the game would work with cloud gaming, play on many devices, and fit better with new hardware, while the physical disc would likely stop working afterward to stop people from sharing or selling the same copy. We do not know which games would work, if it costs money, or when it might launch, and Microsoft has not confirmed it, so this is still just a rumor.

I have a deeper understanding why Playstation is no longer big in Japan after looking in stores and talking to people: - Prices are not affordable anymore, especially when the yen is weaker - Sony gave up on Japan over the years, especially when they moved HQ from Tokyo to California (this was a huge slap on the face) - Playstation is not presence anywhere, it's hard to find Sony stuff in general while Nintendo you can't miss for example - Their first party output doesn't appeal to the Japanese gamer - No real handheld options as of now but will change with the PS6 gen - They don't go aggressive on 3rd party games anymore that appeal to japanese gamers like they did before Button line is Sony needs to have a handheld option with games that appeal to Japanese gamers at a affordable price. And have a bigger presence everywhere, marketing and appeal

@Pirat_Nation This should basically go without saying for any online game. If there are bugs that allow duping items etc, don't abuse it, if they don't ignore, it's either a rollback or ban.

The method guarantees a gold cartridge through precise timing of level selection on entry, but developers are treating it as malicious exploitation and spreading of the bug. There are a million things I could say. Beyond doesn't deserve the sheer vitriol it gets. We expected 10/10, got 7-8/10, people talk like it's 2/10. Not to mention had more marketing after release than before (genuinely what's up with that Nintendo??) I can't say I'm surprised.

@zedamex @TheJoshMan07 I’ve beaten ghost and goblins resurrection with no problem that game requires precise movement or you’re dead in one hit and lose progress. I think that’s a pretty good litmus test if the latency matters or not.

That was way shorter than I thought it’d be but overall that was fun. My only real issue is that the controls were kinda annoying and unintuitive imo, but still not bad enough to hinder my enjoyment all that much. Great little game, full of charm.

@2sallads @TheJoshMan07 Yea it's not impossible but it's not ideal. F Zero on NSO (GameCube) was called out yet I could do a good lap with some practice. (Though I'm no f zero expert so maybe I missed the bigger picture). Music rhythm is what hurts me the most yet people still full combo hardest songs

@2sallads @TheJoshMan07 Seen multiple people report mouse mode feels sluggish. Visual feedback may be on par with other recent consoles (eg 5-7 frames after button press) but audio is worse. 3DS ~33ms PS4 ~53ms, PS5Pro ~70ms, Switch/Switch2 at it's best ~86ms (using inbuilt headphone jack or fast hdmi)

@TheJoshMan07 The controls are perfect if you play with an Nintendo 64 controller or play the re-compilation which maps the buttons properly. The NSO one fucking sucks. It also just doesn’t feel as good. Too much latency for my taste.

Nintendo should sell a Dockless Switch 2 with no Dock No HDMI Cable. For those that don’t play their Switch 2 docked and sell it for $399 to reduce unnecessary costs. I’m one of those that only plays docked once in a blue moon. 90% of my gaming is handheld only. @NintendoAmerica

Metroid Prime 4 has still not appeared in any of Nintendo's financial sales reports. Sadly that means it did not reach over 1 million units sold on Switch or 1 million units sold on Switch 2 in the past fiscal year.
