Boko Haram insurgents intentionally carry out attacks on Nigerian troops at night, taking advantage of the military’s Limited Night Time Air Support Capabilities. The terrorists are well aware that Nigerian forces rely heavily on aerial cover during operations—support that is often unavailable after dark. In recent days if carefully observed, Boko Haram attacks are mostly launched against troop positions at night and this is because air support is usually limited or to an extend unavailable. Our Air Force lacks night flying capability. Recommendations Our Air components (Air Force) should be revisited especially night operations to be enhanced. Military modern equipments that can detect threats 10 or more kilometres away should be deployed in all the Military formations and an advanced technology should take a centre stage. Intelligence should be strict. The Men and officers of the armed forces should take the fight to the Terrorists not until they wait for them, it should be a must finished fight, let there be gun blaze daily hitting the terrorists.
