🚨 JUST NOW 🚨 Yunyun Syndrome!? Rhythm Psychosis dev admits the English localization is a total disaster. Random “END FASCISM!”, “i will NEVER be victimized under fascism again”, “SFW policies promoted fascism?”, full YOLO office-destruction rants, and other completely unhinged lines got injected into the game, none of this was in the original Japanese script. Creator (WHO YOU / Fuyuki Hayashi) just announced an urgent Discord announcement: they are personally reviewing everything with the localization team and fixing it all by the end of today (JST / 8 AM PT). Community feedback fought against this, and devs finally listened to fans! Screenshots of the announcement and the wildest in-game examples are attached.

@fred6279 @QDenpaReceivers Give the man some break, he is probably patching it based on community respond. He also said in announcement that they are reviewing the whole thing, that takes times. Also the “translator” was most likely provided by publisher seeing their history together

@QDenpaReceivers The new translations still aren't great. You have hired translators whose style is not in favour of accurate translations like the other languages. They are exploiting your lack of English knowledge.

@zeeto139 @_rawrell considering they renamed it from "Needy Girl Overdose" to "Needy Streamer Overload" I'm more inclined to believe it was simply a matter of no one scrutinizing that game's localization at the time.

Apparently the localization team is Dragonbaby. Their Head of Localization Sam Burton was also involved in Eiyuden Chronicle's localization, another infamously terrible one that completely butchered the characters' personalities and dialogue. That certainly explains a lot.

Do you know what's hilarious about this butchered localisation? The game is based in 2012, they could have forced in memes from that era, but they're forcing in Zoomer shit from 2026. They're not even forcing in the right fucking memes in a game about Internet culture.

@krfuffl @ChibiReviews Yeah its most likely the publisher, the dev seems like one that cares about fans opinion. Its still day one so I hope they will fix it eventually.

@zeeto139 @ChibiReviews That's the thing. Many JP devs are hands off and trust the localization team to do their job. If the userbase aren't proactive in making contact directly at the source, they won't know something's wrong. Never send complaints to the English branch because they will get filtered.

They translated "YAMERO" into "END FASCISM" I really wonder how these translators still have jobs when they aren't even attempting to translate right

@krfuffl @ChibiReviews People have been complaining since demo and they actually changed some things right before release. Maybe dev/publisher just fully trust the localiser since they have worked together in the past and there weren’t any issue with it

@ChibiReviews I don't even play the game but if the Japanese developers have official feedback channel, I'll send them a message based on that Steam review. This shit has to stop.

@ChibiReviews Yunyun Syndrome was supposed to be a game to celebrate DENPA and otaku culture, but like all english localizers, they make it about themselves. At least the other language translations are accurate from what I've seen. The game is fun at least but the translation ruins it.
