@SashaVasilyuk I've gotten very into them - and my kids love that we basically can eat hamantaschen for dinner and then the regular ones for dessert. I did a recipe for salmon ones in Tablet a few years ago, on a similar 'what if we'd celebrated Jewish holidays in the USSR?' theme.

@VladaTeper I was glad you wrote about that. My grandparents were here for only a few months, and I'd forgotten so much of that period - or just didn't understand what was going on - but Gorbachev really stood out, even to my 10-yr-old self.
