People who haven’t seen Purgatory 2 should stop doom-posting about how bad Purgatory 3 will be 🤷‍♀️. Purgatory 1 was “bad” because rp-stakes were involved. No one knew what they signed up for and if the eggs would live. Purgatory 2 was a fun competition, sweaty, but fun.

@sewaryka or instead of a cannon they use litematica, it’s still schematics but you have to place the blocks layer by layer. To me that feels… more genuine. All in all, I am happy the fans can be involved…I think i just dislike the cannon. 😅 Plus using it for small builds is overkill.

@sewaryka The credit we can 100% agree on. QSMP isn’t a rp centric server, I understand that building takes time and that many ccs don’t have schedules that allow them to sink 40h+ into a build. That said I have seen other servers allow creative mode for building+

The schematic cannon straight up feels like AI, unless you do the schematic for it in a creative world… it erases heart and soul from builds. I would rather have a bunch of “bad” builds over whatever is happening at spawn atm. But that’s just me 🤷‍♀️

@toffeeyl I would at least want there to be a sign with the creators socials/name. Everyone can play minecraft their own way, I am not trying to police it. It’s just as an artist who has honed their craft for years, I can’t stand the argument of inexperience as reason to paste builds.

@zenaeco hmm idk as a person who uses the schematic canon alot in her worlds idrcccc, id rather have a nice build then watch katie struggle to build, same with myself id rather have no soul world then get mine sucked out cause i dislike building in minecraft

@zenaeco i like Ash's take on it when Ewron told him of the canon, Ash told him you gotta pay these people for their work, its not enough that they just get recognition. and i think that comes from the fact that he's used to commissioning and paying for builds for series' he knows

@carstairsfox looking at Mariana’s house in QSMP1 for example, wound up telling beautiful stories regardless. Although part of my opinion is definitely influenced by the oversaturation of AI so just craving imperfection has become a norm. Even in block game pffft

@carstairsfox I feel like there are arguments to be made for both sides, one being new to the game having a vision, avoiding frustration by using a canon and only collecting the blocks vs. slowly getting the hang of it and seeing your own progress. Even the most scuffed builds +

Correction: The builds are made by fans, while I still don’t like the canon, if there was a sign crediting the builder, I would feel better about it.

@carstairsfox I wasn’t aware that the builds were made by fans, in that case some sign as credit near the builds would be nice. It still doesn’t make me like the canon but it would feel better overall if that makes sense.

@zenaeco i dont like the schematic canon personally, but its not that big of a deal since all the builds are personally made for the cc's by fans, if it was just copy pasted builds into the server then yeah its less authentic.
