I thought I'd fill out my California ballot, and one race I know nothing about is Superintendent of Public Instruction. Found this @CalMatters story, and holy shit. The office is being gutted. So the power over schools will be with the next governor. calmatters.org/education/k-12…

HOW MUCH LONGER ARE THESE RETARDED SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS GOING TO KEEP THIS RIDICULOUS LIE GOING?! ENOUGH ALREADY

Just finished watching the first of two @EdSource forums for State Superintendent of Public Instruction featuring Josh Newman, Richard Barrera & Sonja Shaw. A few reflections: -Sonja was the star. She was measured, assertive & could reasonably defend her positions. She's grown a lot in this campaign. Even Josh complimented & seconded her comments several times & Richard was quick to call her a bully rather than address her many successes while on the Chino Valley USD board. -Richard is basically Tony Thurmond 2.0 from San Diego. I don't know a single district that wants to emulate his failure. If you like how the State Dept of Ed is being run now, vote for Richard. -Josh is ever amiable, but he really has no practical education experience aside from having been the chair of the Senate Ed Committee for several years. CTA loved him until he was no longer useful. -John Fensterwald and Emma Gallegos moderated the conversation very well.

Her old San Diego schools colleague Richard Barrera attacked my investigative reporting that exposed the district's critical race theory programs. I replied forcefully in print:
