They only work when we are willing to confront what they show us, even when it exposes misconduct by those in uniform. False statements by law enforcement must be treated with the same gravity as the accusations they level against our communities. When an officer’s words can put a child in a cage, any abuse of that power has to be investigated, documented, and answered with real consequences.
