@yachtlifebayc @DrSimEvans You opinion is biased. (1) the addition of new energy (wind, solar...) is tremendous, coal energy percent is actually decreasing. (2) new coal plants (2 plants per week doubtful) are using new techs, which emits much less than old ones...so it may be not that preposterous 😄

@DrSimEvans Electrification is pointless if the fuel source creating this transition is net negative for overall emissions, as is the case in China. Excitement over adding two coal-fired electric generation plants per week is preposterous.

@martytaka777 レアアースは実は中国だけでなく世界中で採れる。 だが、レアアースは精錬しなければ使えない。精錬の際には大量の有毒物質が出る。通常は、その処理に多大なコストがかかるが、倫理観のぶっ飛んだ中国では精錬後の有毒排水をそのまま環境に垂れ流している。 だから低コストで世界に供給できる。

中国のデュアルユース品目輸出規制。実は「中国にしか存在しない資源」など存在ない。ガリウムは豪州で日本企業が、まもなく生産開始するし、ゲルマニウムは米国に、アンチモンはタジキスタンにある。中国産が強いのは、環境負荷を無視した採掘による「安さ」ゆえ。コストは多少上がるが、日本にとって致命傷にはならない。脱中国依存を進める良い機会だ。日本よ、慌てるな！
