Katiller

🗣️Bu yıl 301 kadın ve 303 çocuk katledildi. 🫵🏼 Çağla T. dosyasının çözülmemişliğinin bir araya getirdiği binlerce insan, ERİL ŞİDDETİN sembolleri olan SİLAH ve DELİCİ ALET kullanımının eril kimliğin parçası oluşunu kınamayacaksa, siz Çağla T’yi sadece kullanıyorsunuz.

@pmamtraveller On his own, Sisyphus watches the boulder roll back every time. On his own, Jesus carries the cross. But once the cross supports the boulder, it stays in place, and they both get to rest. My favourite detail is that the cross is no longer an instrument of suffering, but a support.

@impression_ists Matisse reminds us that art isn't only about depicting the world. It's about revealing the way the artist sees and feels it. His colours weren't trying to be accurate. They were trying to be honest.

Henri Matisse and art were never supposed to cross paths. He was born into a humble family in a small provincial town. His father, a grain merchant, wanted him to pursue a "serious" career. He even punished Henri for spending time drawing. So they sent him to Paris to study law. Matisse didn't argue. He graduated, became a lawyer, and seemed set for a conventional life. Then everything changed. While recovering from appendicitis, he was confined to bed for weeks. To help pass the time, his mother gave him a box of paints. He picked up a brush. And discovered what would become his life's calling. His father was furious. "Painting is for starving vagabonds," was one of the kinder things he said. But this time, Matisse refused to follow the path laid out for him. A few years later, he was the most celebrated artist in France. And the wealthiest. Even then, his father never truly accepted his choice. Matisse didn't just defy his father. He defied art itself. 🔹 He rejected academic tradition in favor of bold color, flattened perspective, and radical new forms. 🔹 He helped define Fauvism and spent his career constantly reinventing his style. 🔹 Critics dismissed much of his work as reckless experimentation. He chose uncertainty over certainty. Again and again. Modern art is impossible to imagine without him. But this isn't really a story about painting. It's about the courage to walk away from the life others have planned for you. How many of us are willing to do the same?

@vangoghmuseum Maybe it wasn't an accurate depiction, but it reflects either the way he remembered Brabant or the way he wished to remember it.

💭 Vincent painted this work as a memory of Brabant, the place where he had grown up. The huts you see here belonged to the poor labourers, which he called 'peoples' nests'. These 'nests' represent the rural life of Brabant and the security of family life, both of which he missed while being a patient in the psychiatric institution in Saint-Rémy. Can you tell that Vincent painted this from memory? 🖼️ Houses and figure, 1890 © The Barnes Foundation
