Yesterday, with the filing of the defamation suit in Barnstable, a collective step was made forward in righting one of the greatest miscarriages of justice America has ever seen. The damage done by Karen Read, Aidan Kearney, and other non-parties to John O’Keefe and his family, the Town of Canton and all its residents, the justice system, and every American who puts their faith in it, along with the four plaintiff witnesses and their loved ones, is immeasurable and devastating. Through a sustained campaign built on defamatory lies, Read and Kearney subverted justice for John O’Keefe by attempting to poison public perception and taint the jury pool. They used gullible and impressionable citizens to disrupt Town of Canton Select Board meetings with hysterical calls of a non-existent conspiracy. They turned neighbors against neighbors and encouraged Canton residents to stalk and spy on the O’Keefes, the witnesses, and anyone associated with them. What followed was a witch hunt built on inflammatory lies, salacious gossip, and innuendo - one that continues to fracture the community to this day. The witnesses are now represented by attorney Christopher Mattei, a litigator with deep experience holding coordinated disinformation campaigns to account in some of the most high-profile defamation cases in the country. His prior work has centered on exposing bad acts, dismantling narratives built on falsehoods, and seeking accountability for the harm those campaigns cause to real people, communities and the American justice system. With this lawsuit, the witnesses will lay bare every lie and every dishonest act employed by Read and Kearney - and we hope that, in doing so, they can help their community heal, shine a light on these tactics, and ensure they are never used again to undermine the American justice system or subvert justice for victims of other crimes.

April 16th Turtle Boy announced he was being sued for his harassment and defamation of Jen McCabe and other witnesses for the Karen trial. He states that he's known this was coming for a month, doesn't have a lawyer and hopes Karen will help....he's doing great.
