I have just received a very special video that I would like to share with the world. This is what it was like to walk out of the courthouse post-verdict. This is the gift our supporters gave us. Thank you to all of you! 🙏

@BCLAW I was fortunate enough to have had both professors, Brodin and Bloom. The best.

This just came across my feed. Thank you, @BCLAW. Our team was so proud of our interns, whose work was vital to our ultimate victory. My alma mater has historically produced the best trial attorneys in the country (in my admittedly biased view) and that tradition continues today.

If you have not already been introduced to Fervent Hosp, please please please subscribe to their YouTube channel! This is a phenomenal video they put together, and I would be willing to bet we can expect more with regards to Officer O’Malley’s case! youtu.be/fPrjBca4784?is… @BostonDefender

nbcboston.com/news/local/blu… @BostonDefender This tragedy highlights the very danger Officer O'Malley confronted when he encountered a violent carjacking suspect in March. DA Hayden continues to ignore that the law requires evaluation of an officer's actions based on the totality of circumstances known at the time—not with the benefit of hindsight. The devastating events in Mattapan should serve as a reminder that violent carjackings can escalate into deadly consequences for entirely innocent people in a matter of seconds. If only an officer had been there to protect an innocent woman from dying a brutal death. @BostonPatrolmen

This story underscores that Roxbury and all of our communities want protection from violent carjackers. The people of Roxbury deserve that protection. They have had enough. In March, Officer Nicholas O’Malley answered the call and stepped up to provide that protection. Rather than thanking him for risking his life, however, Suffolk County District Attorney Hayden decided to prosecute him instead. For doing his job. What message does that send to other Boston police officers? And to the community of Roxbury?
Grant Smith Ellis@GrantSmithEllis

Wait a minute: Boston Police Officer Nicholas O'Malley was criminally charged for saving lives by shooting a felony who tried to hit officers with a car. Now, an entire group of people deliver street justice to a carjacker who killed a pedestrian, and no charges follow? What?

Yes, I knew Frank. He was a long-time veteran defense lawyer when I was a young prosecutor. Very much a gentleman, very much old-school, and yes, I remember the Irish twinkle. Frank received a bad diagnosis but worked and showed up to court almost right to the very end. A good man taken too early.

@BostonDefender @defense_diaries Great word ! Although decompensating in itself is not a great situation. By the way, did you know Attorney Frank Kelleher? He was my surrogate dad.. he had wild stories of Dedham, suffolk courts. He was the the wisest man with the irish twinkle in his eyes.

Thanks, Bob. As you know, there are few more awesome responsibilities than having someone’s life and future in your hands. As a result, that was not the first time I have decompensated after a verdict. And I have more trials in me, so it likely won’t be the last. Happy one-year anniversary to an epic day!

One year ago today…they gloriously failed at trying to pin it in on the girl. @BostonDefender captured the mood beautifully. ❤️

There will be no apology, Jon, although one would certainly come from anyone with an ounce of integrity. The poor woman is wrong on a daily basis but reacts to anyone pointing that out by doubling down on her self-righteousness. It’s the only thing she knows. A lot of people are still waiting for her to apologize for publicly and proudly announcing that she “stands with Proctor.” But I suspect we will see Godot or the Messiah before we ever hear an apology for her. Whatevs.

@cpujals represented our firm at the Lawrence Hometown Heroes Golf Tournament this week. It is a worthwhile charity, honoring two fallen local officers, we were very proud to be a sponsor.

I just finished speaking at a @MaineMACDL continuing legal education seminar in Freeport, ME on criminal defense strategies. My colleague who asked me to speak — leading Maine criminal defense attorney @timzerillo — paused for a pic with me at the end. Thanks, Tim!

Reading comprehension is obviously not your strong suit. It was suggested to me in this text exchange that whoever was putting pressure on Lucky no longer had him under their thumb. My response about rats deserting the ship was obviously in reference to whoever it was that was circling the wagons and trying to keep Lucky in that circle. I suggested, in what was a private conversation, that those same rats should rethink their witness intimidation and come to our side, the right side. The right boat. To suggest instead that I was insulting Lucky, a man I had never met at the time, and someone who was very clearly a crucial witness for us, is beyond the pale and beneath even you. Speaking of you, you were caught red handed, cutting and pasting text messages to distort the conversation, relying on the fact that I very rarely respond to your nonsense. When you attacked Lucky, however, I could not let that stand. Given that you have lied and have now gotten caught, the mature thing to do would be to apologize. If you did, I would accept it and grant you a little bit of the respect that you so desperately crave. But you won’t, as that’s not you. It’s sad that I have to explain all of this to you poor souls. And for those trolls who are complaining that I’m not responding quickly enough, please realize that you live on X (and my condolences for that), while I am just visiting in between helping my clients and taking care of my family. That’s all for today’s lesson. Class dismissed.

David Yannetti called Lucky Loughran a "rat" who needed to get on the "right boat." This was after Aidan Kearney had targeted him on behalf of the defense and illegally wiretapped him. Imagine an attorney calling witnesses rats. This is the way Read's defense viewed and treated every civilian witness who was not favorable to them.

@nataliebatchen @JulieCar94 Just saw this. This pathetic, sad, desperate, attention-seeking Midwest housewife has lied again. She put those two messages together as if one was response to the other. It wasn’t. Leave Lucky the hell alone, mean girl.
