We built a studio, we made a game, and I'm really proud of both. Before we close the doors at Midsummer Studios I'd like to share a glimpse of Burbank, the game we poured our hearts into. It's like "Life Sims + The Truman Show," but it's more than that. I believe people are storytellers, and I want them to share whatever stories and characters they can dream up. Burbank let's you do that. We have moments playing this game where characters come alive in a way we've never experienced. And for an old game developer like me that's special. What you're about to see is definitely pre-alpha. But this game was a dream of mine, our team made it come true, so watch and dream with us.

Gamers, Here are my conclusions regarding my latest poll. Bear with me, I consider both points of view. About the No: I first majored in Industrial Design. During my studies I met women with immense creativity and will to get things done with zero drama and intense focus. Many of the products I created back then were done in collaboration with female designers, and they ended up being prototypes and products I'm still proud of. I think that experience easily translates to game development. After all, the combination of the masculine with the feminine is what gives birth to life. In this case, great games. Now, when I talk about what women bring to the table, I'm not considering either woke activists or 'feminist' men/soy boys. Those are the ones responsible for the debacle we've witnessed over the past decade. About the Yes: Here's the uncomfortable truth. The fact that 43.9% voted 'Yes, women should be banned from game development' is not an insignificant portion. Many men out there have become disgusted with everything that feminism brought to the game industry. That's fair and valid. This feeling, when analyzing its causes, is something that institutions, studios, and corporations should acknowledge. There are hundreds of men out there who want to create their own games without anyone pushing for a female presence--and that is okay. Just as it’s okay for women to have 'female-only' game development efforts. In the end, what matters is the end product--a fun game, with inspiring characters, that delights gamers everywhere. Merit over quotas.
