I see a lot of people saying its the models' fault. Its not. If you knew the GFS has been unreliable then why did you rely on it enough to tell everyone about the impending doom. The same goes for the other models. The job of a forecaster is to use the tools available to make the best weather forecast possible. Computer models are a tool in a set along with regional nuances, experience, etc. This is why AI will never be able to make a good forecaster obsolete. Note the word 'good'. It makes no difference whether you are a degreed met or a hardcore weather enthusiast, if you are putting info out there, do it responsibly. Posting a model run 300 hours out and treating it as a forecast isn't the best look. This is just one of many issues the entire meteorology community in the US needs to get its shit straight on before there are no 'good' forecasters left.

I am likely speaking too soon, but I feel like it needs to be said. We would never recover from the public again if the South was to lose this storm. I mean ... never. It would be an all time wiff.
