Because I still don't believe it, let me share this before they change their mind and rescind it. I’ve been promoted to Professor of Medicine @Columbia ! I’m deeply grateful for the support of my mentors, colleagues, trainees, and my family along the way. I was very lucky.

@allisonoconn Some silly 🪿 are just not worth your time to point out that they are being silly 🪿. Some silly 🪿 have a ⏬ EQ problem.

Some people are silly gooses thinking I think it’s hard to answer pages or work long hours! The hard part is the continued empathy, thoughtfulness, thoroughness, creativity and transparency that every patient deserves despite limited time and physical exhaustion.

@mededdoc Very relatable! Suspect the answer is different for different folks. For me, the 🔑 has always been keeping up with my physical fitness 🏃-> that buys me mental fitness/optimism 🧠 -> that encourages me to tackle projects that I otherwise find too daunting 💪. Don't break the⛓️

Does anyone else in #MedEd have this problem... It's the beginning of a "project" (could be a paper you need to write, 20 transcripts you need to analyze, or maybe 20 student papers you need to grade), and it's just SO HARD to get started. Like, that initial #motivation to move on things is just really, really difficult. But, once you get going, the sustainment motivation becomes much easier (e.g., "I only have five more papers to grade!"). Anyway, I just wanted to make sure I'm not alone in this #motivational challenge I regularly face. And if you experience something similar, do you have any strategies to help GET YOU MOVING?
