Just saw #SongoftheFireflies and I think it’s one of the more thoughtfully crafted local films to come out recently. The film captures the depth of Filipino culture through music. You can feel the effort to stay true to the real-life experiences that inspired the film.

First time in a long while leaving the cinema with swollen eyes from crying. #MumuIHearYouPapa is a humbling watch. One that lingers in your heart long after the credits roll. Life is hard enough, now imagine living it without a voice the world readily understands.

Not breaking any new ground in martial arts cinema but it does execute the classic with sincerity&heart. In a cinematic landscape crowded with self-aware meta-commentary #KarateKidLegends is refreshingly straightforward. It knows what kind of story its telling&it tells it well.
