@ItsBigBroZo The only concrete p2w argument against gw2 is elite specs. Certain aspects of pve support builds’ boon meta are locked into elite specs for balance purposes, but that’s not a deal breaker outside of endgame PvE meta team comps, and you can still just be a dps anyway.

Guild wars 2 is P2W??? What do you guys consider pay to win? I’ve been seeing a lot of people say THIE is pay to win and I don’t think it is at all lol.

@keyokku Black citadel cooking station for one, you’ll know em when you see em. Very rarely, you’ll find a few hidden away in the generic houses and inns of Divinity’s Reach, sometimes they forget the range of /me and /say chat. I just run around cities a lot and like exploring buildings.

@Primordialmuk Haven’t pvp’d in years but I still remember signet of fury active = dodge, LoS, kite, invuln, NEVER let them burst you in that 4s window. PvP berserkers only run signet of fury for one thing and it’s disgusting. I’d be using shortbow 3 and dodges first though.

@Auresii I love that gw2 is genuinely a fresh piece of high fantasy. From the way most classes twist their archetypal gameplay, to how generic fantasy races are discarded for unique entrants, and the way these new cultures interact and banter, it’s all so unique, especially the combat too

@afterKarhu @Reirakiyo If you go straight from level 80 core to expansion raid wings and t4 fracs then yeah, because you’re supposed to be seasoned for those. If you go from open world to original strikes and t1 fracs and say the barest “hey what’s the mechanics here?” people tend to be glad to share.

@Reirakiyo GW2 also suffers from the need to play with people that dont have time to teach nor are friendly to newcomers. no matter how noob friendly the game is to learn the community is not overall welcoming

@Triburos As someone who’s played another casual balance game with similar raids, I could see this… however, I would make two changes: instakill is reserved to hardmode, and in normal mode is replaced by a modified downstate where you’re frozen/snared and can only be freed by amp damage.

I would genuinely like to see Raids come back where the focus is on positioning & raid-mate coordination. And I DO think it could be done! Even if our community's collective brain has atrophied so badly, your average pub cant shoot a release valve at the appropriate time. (1/4)

Goblins are a great addition to a fantasy game. But only if they remain toxic, cruel, & petty. If you "rehabilitate" them then you need something else to be the vicious little monsters in your world, and you haven't solved any problem. If orcs or goblins or beholders become potential good guys in a world that heroes who must stand up to evil, then who will be the evil they stand up to? Something else, presumably. At some point you realize that the people whitewashing goblins & orcs are hoping that you'll make humans - your own species - the bad guys.

@Dagz_Houz @GuildWars2 I think the only modes that might get refreshed by a classic mode are pvp/wvw, but the arrogance, demanding, and impoliteness displayed here are certainly not winning anyone over.
