@RJSYork These ‘snap shots’ of a different age are always fascinating aided by contemporary recollections. Interesting to note the pairing of composers’ music across the services of the day and which pieces remain in popular use today.

The days of twelve choral services each week with one set of choristers. For a musical child, such an amazing opportunity! Francis Jackson was part of this and told me how boring it was on Wednesdays with no school, choir, or shops!
