@JKMVidimo No. Sadly not. There’s a gap. Having recently looked at ICB contracts from the perspective of a GP- I can certainly see where either money could be saved or productivity gains could be achieved for the same £. And it isn’t from General Practice.

Want to save £££’s from your ICB budget? Just ask your GP Practices for feedback on which services are delivering & which aren’t? This feedback mechanism doesn’t exist at the moment & yet we are in daily communication with patients & services. Just ask. Let’s work together.

@gpwife @wesstreeting Really sad. This is not how a system should save money as it will destabilise its whole health economy within months. Instead ask GP practices, which services are performing 4 patients & which are not but so might be a tick box/nice to have. This is how you save £ fast. We know.

@wesstreeting please help GP Practices under South Cumbria & Lancs ICB. Execs have just passed on massive cuts to our local funding to save their own inflated salaries. Many of our Practices will go under. Execs will not speak to us. Patients will shortly have ltd svcs. Help.

Defunding Primary Care from > 11% to 5% NHS spend 2. Fragmentation of care & restrictive pathways 3. The Workforce Plan & non evidenced based roles 4. Obsession on place but not pt flows to local hospitals

@BenAllenGP Our dispensary leave me a box of prescriptions to sign first thing whilst I am waiting for logging on. Then I can unpack my Drs bag, have a few sips of coffee brought from home, check the couch roll, find a pen. I find there’s plenty of time 🤣

Gentle reminder that if the NHS workforce plan had included sufficient training numbers for Drs to qualify into specialties then there would already be enough qualified consultants/SAS Drs to meet increasing demand & clear the waiting list backlog more cheaply & faster

@doctor_oxford @Saramac7 @NHSEngland @DHSCgovuk So many Drs leaving medicine as they haven’t been able to get training numbers/places for specialty training in this country It has been heartbreaking to see a generation of Drs unable to access training and leave the NHS

Imagine if @NHSEngland actually employed the number of consultants it needs, rather than running things on the shoestring that causes waiting lists to spiral out of control. What are you expecting, @DHSCgovuk? Exhausted consultants to give up their limited spare time for free?
