@KseniiaBaziian I'm also in China, and I'm so glad you'd give me such a compliment! Have a great trip!

Some notes after travelling around China for 2 months
- China is huge and has something in store for everyone from big cities to ancient villages, from nature to high tech, from culture to shopping.
- Each region has completely different nature, architecture and cuisine.
- It’s very safe everywhere any time of day or night.
- Crazy mix between modern & local / traditional - think skyscrapers & clothing drying on ropes outside. Old residential buildings are kept intact, which adds contrast.
- There’s no such concept as quietness and personal space. Extra loud everywhere. Either very crowded or completely empty.
- There’s no culture of resting and enjoying in China, especially compared to Europe where everything is about slow living. Here you come to a beautiful place, Chinese snap pics and move on to the next place - they don’t really take it in.
- People are in the phones all the time, literally walking on the street and staring in the phones, group dinners where everyone is in the phones are common.
- Understandable because the whole life is in mobile - chats, payments, deliveries, taxis, etc. everything is a couple of clicks away.
- Delicious and very cheap food. Trying new things in each city or region becomes addictive, though I’ve seriously overdosed on sugar, meat, oil and bread. Portions are usually huge and food is not the healthiest.
- Crazy shopping culture in big cities. Stores are massive and very arty, frequently in historic buildings.
- Zero English, so you have to use translator app everywhere. It’s not as difficult as I expected but gets tiring after a long time, as you don't understand anything. In small towns people have a funny habit of talking louder to you as if you'd understand Chinese in this way.

🇺🇸 My family arrived in New York City in April 1976, fifty years ago, during our country's bicentennial celebration. I sang "America the Beautiful" and recited the Pledge of Allegiance before I was fluent in English. We became naturalized citizens as soon as we were eligible. This country, with its generous people and the world's enviable civil rights, provided us with the opportunity to build a safe, comfortable, and happy life. I am grateful to call the United States of America my home. Happy 250th, America!🇺🇸
