Historic Slavery Photos Get ‘Final Resting Place’ After Long Fight With Harvard “The reception at the International African American Museum in Charleston, S.C., which included a woman who says she is one of Renty’s descendants, heralded the transfer of 15 fragile daguerreotypes from Harvard University. The school quietly relinquished ownership of them late last year.” nytimes.com/2026/03/11/us/… via @NYTimes

“People who don’t understand politics will be upset because Jasmine was their hero,” said Texas state Rep. Jolanda Jones, a Democrat. “But for people who understand politics, [Crockett] literally had no ground game.” She added: “This L is on her.” 📰 buff.ly/WJEu3Xp

Mississippi has a Black (#ADOS) population above thirty-five percent. Eighty-three percent are registered voters. Voter turnout is surging despite felony disenfranchisement that has gutted nearly sixteen percent of potential Black voters in Mississippi. mississippifreepress.org/democratic-tur…

Many people don’t grasp the politics or economics of what is going on with The Strait of Hormuz. This isn’t about just taking the strait. It’s about making it available for GUARANTEED INSURABLE safe passage. The issues now are the scale of resources that must be transported through this strait with ZERO threat of attack. And the reason is that without ZERO guaranteed threat the insurance companies that insure these multi million dollar oil tankers will void coverage. SO ANY OWNER WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THAT RISK OF CROSSING AND NOT BEING HIT BY ATTACK ON THEIR OWN. #StraitofHormuz
David D. Chapman@DavidD_Chapman

5,000 Marines are more than enough to take Kharg Island. Right now, however, the objective is to secure The Strait of Hormuz. Part of securing the strait requires clearing Iranian Offensive capabilities along the coast of the strait. 5,000 Marines can do that.

Poor people tend to have a lot of optimism. And they can’t be expected to understand all the ways in which Clyburn does them a disservice.

Hey @amandalitman, you are based in Brooklyn. How do you know that @ClyburnSC06 @RepJamesClyburn’s decision is a “disservice to his district”? Serious question: Have you ever been to his district? Do you know his voters?

SCOOP: Last year we reported extensively on Elon Musk’s desire to break into the data pipes of government to bypass the federal bureaucracy. That approach had major consequences — one of which we reveal today: A DOGE bro allegedly made off with volumes upon volumes of highly sensitive Social Security data - the agency’s “crown jewels” - which he downloaded on a thumb drive and brought over to his new job. Me, @MerylKornfield @FedGirlWaPo report on this unprecedented breach: washingtonpost.com/politics/2026/…

You must give people something to vote for. This is part of any effective Get Out The Vote strategy. This is especially true for #ADOS because we’ve watched the system fail to effectively meet our needs for generations. Many have given up on voting our way out of this. @ADOSorg is available to help candidates draft a robust Black agenda. Because it’s inexcusable to ask for someone’s vote & offer nothing in exchange.
