A fond farewell to Leinster House after 14 years. I spent the last week clearing my desk and three terms of memories. I will be forever grateful to the people of Fingal for the opportunity to serve in Parliament. The next chapter is yet to be written.

Examples of trees down we want to make you aware of as our crews begin assessment and clear up. Turvey Avenue Blocked at Beresford Tree down at the graveyard on the main road in Ballyboughal making the road impassable. 5 trees down at Estuary Road Tree down at Balbriggan Street Skerries Remember Yellow warning still in place and only make necessary journeys and drive with extreme caution Remember: Dublin has now moved to a Status Yellow warning . This is in place from 12pm-4pm, with strong to near gale force westerly winds and damaging gusts. There is a good amount of debris across Fingal and our crews are now out and about to assist with the clean up - they will tackle priority routes first before moving to local roads. So far we have received reports of 82 trees down across the county, as well as the ice-rink in Millennium Park being severely damaged. Our parks will remain closed today and will be inspected later this afternoon. Alongside this, all of our pitches will be closed this weekend, with assessments for playability not being carried out until Monday. While council offices and facilities are closed today, it will still be business as usual with all of our staff working and responding to any queries. Members of the public can contact Fingal County Council on 018905000 during normal office hours, after which calls will be transferred to the council’s emergency/out of hours service. You may also email our Operations Teams within your local area using: Castleknock Mulhuddart Area - casmuloparea@fingal.ie Balbriggan Swords Area - balswooparea@fingal.ie Howth Malahide Area - howmaloparea@fingal.ie

2.78 million people are now employed, with 96,800 jobs gained in the last year alone. 4.3% unemployment rate vs 6.4% in the euro area. We are witnessing not only a record number of people in employment, but also the growth of dynamic and sustainable industries 💪🏼

Harm reduction is critical in a health led and compassionate approach to drug use. The government support @ColmBurkeTD @DonnellyStephen makes it possible to add to safety and care in addiction. @MerchantsQuayIR deserve enormous credit we @HSELive happy to support.

Yesterday I signed the licence for Ireland’s first Supervised Injecting Facility to open in Merchants Quay Dublin. It opened its doors today with staff available to provide support This facility is a landmark development in our health-led approach to drug use. It prioritises the health and social needs of people who inject drugs and reduces the stigma and marginalisation associated with on street injecting drug use. I commend the @HSELive and @MerchantsQuayIR and @roinnslainte staff for the development and delivery of this pilot service. I am particularly heartened that the facility will be able to open at a time of year when people who inject drugs face heightened isolation and vulnerability.
