I never thought I’d hear my grandparents’ Holocaust stories… and recognize parts of them in real time.
I didn’t learn about the Holocaust from a textbook. I learned it from my grandparents…survivors.
Yom Hashoah is about remembering the 6 million Jews who were murdered. But it’s also about recognizing what happens when hate is ignored, minimized, or normalized.
History doesn’t repeat itself exactly…but it leaves patterns.
And if we’re not paying attention, we miss them while they’re happening.
Never again isn’t just something we say. It’s something we have to recognize….NOW.
Never again is NOW.
