I'm so tired of lateness being viewed as a moral failing. I've been shamed for it my whole life because it's framed as "disrespect" (and no, it hasn't helped me be more punctual) and if I lost out on a major life opportunity because of it I don't think I could have ever recovered

Walking through the American section in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, enjoying some of Copley’s works when I stumble upon a contemporary painting of a black guy. No context. No explanation. Just “here’s a picture of a black guy surrounded by flowers.” Alright then.

Last week, a proposed list of simplified faith codes was released to the media. The Pentagon list included redundant and unnecessary labeling, and the mistake has been fixed. The goal of this effort is to simplify a previously out-of-control “belief” coding system that had ballooned to over 200 codes. In order to clarify the work of chaplains, and simplify the work of commanders, the Pentagon has consolidated and simplified the list to roughly thirty codes — using the previously used labels for faiths. The Pentagon’s job is not to adjudicate theological debates, but instead to ensure sincerely-held faith is respected and encouraged in our ranks. i have been gifted a wonderful fic idea for penalties and it accidentally sparked joy and i wrote a 2.3k outline in two hours, BUT i fear it is too similar to the last fic bc it's also cnc. should i try and work on something else in between, or can i post two cnc fics in a row?

@firelilyluke Also Ilya is terrified of Shane finding out how kinky they actually are and getting in his head about it, like he lives in fear of one of their teammates telling Shane it’s not “normal” to want/have sex 10x a week.

this is part of why as fun as i think it is to have hollanov talk and joke about sex with the cens i really don’t think shane would be open or at all interested in discussing their bedroom dynamics with anyone in the hockey world for a long time

@ilyaskotenok Honestly I’d rather a really well-thought out OC than a canon character where it doesn’t make sense for them to be, like I like Hayden but if Shane is drafted to NY it makes more sense to give him a new friend than to decide that also Hayden was drafted to NY.

how do you guys feel about made up characters in fics? cause i have this problem where shane & ilya are rookies on the same team and i want one more rookie to be around them but idk any from boston in the actual series LMAO so i just made one up and i love him

@kittyheartfelt Tbh I also wonder if RR structured it that way bc Ilya is….more likely to let Shane win. Not to the point of cheating but going easy on him once or twice. Like Shane is more sincerely competitive while Ilya is more just committed to the bit.
