I think it’s funny when people - who were usually very young when he died - invoke Wes as a gotcha, primarily because he hated Scream 3 and 4. I stood next to him once as he called Scream 4 a giant piece of shit with the worst cast he ever worked with.

I’m not gonna pretend it’s crucial to the rest of the movie but 7’s opening happens because the killers want to sell that Stu is back. It’s ultimately more connected to the plot than 4’s opening since the final cut removes all reference to Jenny being the girl Trevor cheated with

My two cents on this: I would have ranked Renate higher. It's a beautiful, perfectly calibrated, and authentic portrayal of Millennial heartbreak and melancholy. And Kirsten's performance in Personal Shopper is cool, but I will always defend and praise her embodiment of Diana in Spencer.
