Dear @potus and @SecVetAffairs, can you start offering abortion services at all VA hospitals, and specifically make an exception to allow care for civilian women? State laws then won't apply.
English

@jaymontgomery44 While this wasn't a lacrosse ball flying at >200 mph (!) I have to assume that this was commotio cordis.
English

@AxisDeviation This is fascinating. Approximately how young? Do we think this is commotio cordis? That would be rare with soccer impact. But I would assume those with NICM are more susceptible given a larger ventricle, more dispersion of repolarization, etc.

Young pt with NICM told me today he “fainted” after the soccer ball hit him in his chest during a match. Was shocked to see this on his S-ICD. #EPeeps

English

@jeffrey_vinocur @jaymontgomery44 Followed up with pt, who confirmed he did in fact get hit in chest with the soccer ball. He then turned around to run another direction and collapsed. Great point though — and one which I hadn’t considered!
English

@jaymontgomery44 @AxisDeviation Did the soccer ball actually hit him? I have many times had children tell me they thought their teammate hit them with a ball/puck before eventually realizing it was an ICD shock.
English

@JDMossMD If going in alphabetical order (A, F, H, St, Su) next up would be 🔺.
English

@jeffrey_vinocur @jaymontgomery44 Great question. Will follow up with him to see if he had confirmation of actually being hit. Stay tuned…

@HHreibe The movie is actually propagation of the ILAM (activation) map. VT flatlined the A-line immediately despite pressors.
English

@AxisDeviation This vt was 200-230 msec? Wide, ugly…how were u able to map( i know scar and ilam were sinus or pacing, but ur activation map was in vt)..,any support?
English

Great VT ablation in “ischemic cardiomyopathy”. Endo LV/RV normal. Epi ILAM with #HDgrid saved the day. Pics: epi scar, epi ILAM, crazy signals at term site. @EPWoodsShop @rabinkova @DrRoderickTung

Go @EPWoodsShop! Great talk on rationale of ILAM to be part of PVI+ for AF/AFL. @AbbottCardio

ILAM for localized LA flutter?! Congrats to @EPWoodsShop for leading 🙏. DZ can be overt niduses for reentry in the atrium. Perhaps a potential PVI+. #QSQ

Congrats to our own Chris Woods @EPWoodsShop for being promoted to Chief Medical Director of Clinical Trials for the entire @SutterHealth system!
English

@Ed_Gerst Agree. And I see this essentially exclusively with St Jude devices.
English

#EPEEPS Asked by device clinic whether to start NOAC for new AF. Looks like RNRVAS triggered AF. Hopefully fixed with reprogramming pacer. Under-recognized cause of AF?

Exciting day doing our first @farapulse pulsed field ablation (PFA) cases today! (Mapping done for fun, during waiting period...and not bad for 64 seconds of ablation.) @EPWoodsShop

@ALFIEEP1 @AxisDeviation @mattaustein How do people feel about “asystole” for this? Personally I prefer “ventricular standstill”
English

@Doc_AleCuesta @ALFIEEP1 I believe it was temporary interruption of transcutaneous pacing.
