Nice 10 commandments from @DrBradleyKnight. Would only add 11. Postprocedural recap/review: The time you sit in front of the recording system reviewing every maneuver and critical EGM will determine good vs great.

*⃣Comparison of 30-Day Readmission and Same-Day Discharge Rates in Patients Undergoing Pulsed Field vs Radiofrequency Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation: A Multicenter Analysis @hrs_journal July 2026 @HRSonline #EPeeps @NileshMathuria ⭐️Methods: • Prospective multicenter registry from 7 high-volume AF ablation centers. • 697 consecutive pts undergoing first or redo AF ablation in 2024 (352 PFA, 345 RFA). • Additional lesion sets (PWI, CTI, linear lesions) were performed at operator discretion. ➡️Primary endpoint: 30-day hospital readmission. ➡️Secondary endpoints: same-day discharge (SDD), cardiac/procedure-related readmissions, and predictors of readmission and SDD. ⭐️Key findings: ➡️30-day readmission - ⬇️with PFA (4.5% vs. 11.0%) (P=0.002). ➡️Same-day discharge -⬆️ with PFA (80.4% vs. 57.7%) (P<0.001). ➡️Cardiac/procedure-related readmissions - ⬇️ with PFA (3.1% vs 8.4%, P=0.0046). ➡️Similar complication rates - 4.5% vs 5.5%. ✴️On multivariable analysis, RFA independently predicted 30-day readmission (adjusted HR 2.22) and cardiac-related readmission (adjusted HR 2.41). • Readmissions for early AF recurrence were markedly lower after PFA (2 vs 14 patients). *⃣Conclusions: ➡️PFA was associated with fewer 30-day readmissions, greater utilization of same-day discharge, and fewer cardiac/procedure-related readmissions. 🧑‍🎓Clinical perspective: ➡️This study extends the advantages of PFA beyond procedural efficiency and acute safety by demonstrating a meaningful reduction in early healthcare utilization. ➡️The lower readmission rate may reflect several factors— ⬇️post-ablation inflammation, ⬇️early atrial arrhythmia recurrences, shorter procedures, and evolving operator practice patterns. heartrhythmjournal.com/article/S1547-…

NEW Global EP episode: #HRStv host @jczerpa is joined by @EladAnter to revisit the foundational physiology behind atrial fibrillation. While tools for pulmonary vein isolation continue to improve, outcomes have plateaued, so what's actually missing? Dr. Anter offers insights from human electrophysiology research to help explain what triggers AFib and where the field may need to refocus its attention. See the full interview here #EPeeps ➡️ bit.ly/4akPc9K 🎧 Prefer to listen? I'm very excited to share that I will be joining @Amgen, overseeing cardiometabolic research and human genetics, starting Aug 3! I am excited to shape target identification, biology, and drug discovery as the therapeutic area head for cardiovascular disease, obesity, and general medicine. And I will lead the human genetics efforts, spanning Amgen deCODE genetics (a subsidiary of Amgen), that drive target discovery and biology across all therapeutic areas. I have been incredibly fortunate to interface with truly remarkable individuals and culture across @MassGenBrigham, @broadinstitute, and @harvardmed, where I could not have asked for a more meaningful and enjoyable academic career. Being able to build on my prior work, discover and clarify therapeutic hypotheses, and now carry them through to medicines that reach millions is an opportunity I'm grateful for. I'm very excited for what comes next.
