The first paper from our collaboration with @Iziko_Museums is out. Descriptions of new Arabella species from both UK (A. ampulliformis) and South Africa (A. umgazanae) will support accurate identifications & give clarity on Arabella iricolor #WormWednesday doi.org/10.1080/156270…

Intern Christa May is really getting it with inverts data entry, learning to catch when there are other phyla collected along with the target! This attention to detail expands our collections in really interesting ways. ugacollections.recollectcms.com/nodes/view/544…

@wareslab Awesome visual! I need to get my GoPro in the water more often. 🤔 No, this isn't Cambarus harti. I can't tell for sure, but I think this might be Cambarus aff. bartonii. Might need to go on a camping trip to double check 😉

I received tissue samples from ~30 species, most of which are from the deep sea. I wonder how much money it cost to gather these. The value held by museums is insane

Speaking of spoonworms @NCReserve and @NorthCarolinaEE! I am always up for searching for more of these amazing animals. We found the one showcased here @uncims tucked in a bivalve shell.

What the heck is a spoonworm and how is it "surprisingly elegant"? @BWWilliamsLab, our Research Curator for Non-molluscan Invertebrates, took @MyPBSNC under the microscope to illuminate the moves of this strange & fascinating creature. Watch here: video.pbsnc.org/video/what-is-…
