My son died. I know he didn't contribute anything to mankind — he was only two months old — but I like to believe he was destined to do something good for humanity. It's been a while since his death, and I hate to dwell on it so publicly, but I wanted you to know him.

Just an update on the progress of my little retreat center in East TN…piers up, LVL on, subfloor in. Walls and roofs going now.

I just found out my top producer (rockstar) has a serious drinking problem. I'm really at a loss of what to do here. In my internal investigation, I've found out that he has had alcohol on his breath during work hours more than once. This one employee was responsible for 30% of all company revenue in 2025. Effective yesterday, I moved him from W-2 to 1099 and took away his company truck to distance my company from him for liability reasons. I'm still trying to decide if I am going to part ways completely, demote him in some way so he is only working from home or insist on rehab with daily breathalyzers while at a jobsite. He is 26 years old, married with 2 kids. Wife does not work. What would you guys do in this situation? If he was not my top producer this would be a much easier decision.

Just so it’s known in the atmosphere my non biased self said that @Parker79p would win a race this year. He’s starting the year very strong.

As a dude from South GA who has spent the last ~3.5 years in NYC / SF, this is very much a thing. If you don’t “grow up” in the northeast/west coast status games there’s a good chance you won’t know they exist / how pervasive they are through your career til college.

@BowTiedBroke So I had to go pick mine up one time . Fed her mustard b4 she went to bed. She was a senior and not the only one. Unfortunately it was a bunch of future D1 athletes. The mamas gathered in my yard while we rounded them all up. DD was fairly scared. I told the deputy to keep her.

I long for a day when the United States has a president who, just for starters, not to even get into more serious matters, is not older than Methuselah and does not sound like a 13 year-old on TikTok talking about middle school classmates. I don’t think this is too much to ask. And do not say to me, I guess you wish we had so-and-so and think what they’d do. We don’t have so-and-so. We have this one. And I don’t think it makes me woke to wish he acted like a grown-up.
