@SaoriHimemiya Yeah V3 Monokuma is kinda boring. I eventually got fine with him when I started seeing it as part of the meta narritive but even with that view point I still just prefer the hopes peak version as a character.

this argument could work if it wasn't for the fact that monokuma's crimes ARE taken seriously and have actual consequences, the cast is literally traumatized by just the sound of his voice, haiji being a pedo is not taken seriously ever and has no consequences on the narrative

the criticism of monokuma isn’t soley that he’s a bad person, the series is full of bad people, it’s that the game about violence uses their violent character SOLEY for comedy, monokuma isn’t taken seriously by the narrative, he’s homicidal for giggles and that’s it

@BanzaiAlex03 im not saying any characters portrayal is bad, I especially really love Terra, I just meant the trope of like "woman cast spells man swing sword" is in like every squinix game, and that's fine because it was the 1990s and was expected

@BanzaiAlex03 1990s squinix misogyny is like, well meaning but ultimately still regressive ideas about gender. Doesn't make the games bad just makes the games not groundbreaking texts. which is, fine, as long as you dont pretend like FF6 is like Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit or something.

Idk how you look at the Johto Starters and not think… these are best final stage trio of starters.

@BanzaiAlex03 I kind of forgot most of the boss fights but I remember really liking Golden Queen and Blaster-Tron’s boss battles, I also kind of liked Eye Scream’s battle

It was also one of the best eras for video games as well if we’re being honest
I’m honestly shocked that this era faded away like it did because there was genius marketing behind it

@DotPeriodFlower Yeah the villain trapping was by far the coolest gimmick imo. Also probably has the best bosses with Golden Queen, Traptanium Kaos and Luminous being the main highlights for me

I also think they knew it was their best concept ever considering how much they pushed it and introduced the new typings in it as well
