This is crazy to say but i have seen plenty of pathetic mets teams but this one may be the most pathetic

I tried explaining that the Mets needed to keep the same offense and upgrade their starting pitching in order to compete this year Instead, Stearns dismantled the offense, constructed a worse lineup and kept the same pathetic pitching that collapsed last year

The Mets were counting on David Peterson (6.14 ERA), Kodai Senga (7.07 ERA) and Sean Manaea (Moved to bullpen, topping out at 89 mph) bouncing back this season in their rotation.
