So today, my hosts took me on a trip onto the equivalent of the Harare-Beitbridge road, and I filmed it so that you get a feel of Mozambique and its road infrustructure🇲🇿.
We drove on the road that leads to the border between Mozambique and South Africa, called the N4 highway, also known as the Maputo Corridor.
This highway connects Maputo to the Ressano Garcia/Lebombo border post, where it crosses into South Africa.
You see, Zimbabweans used to laugh at how backward Mozambique was, but with time, the Mozambicans are having the last laugh as our country has been saddled with terrible and corrupt leaders!
I filmed three parts of the road as it leaves Maputo, including the middle sections.
The architecture never changes, it remains the same all the way to the border with side guard rails/crash barriers all the way!
It is fascinating to see how countries evolve over time and how perceptions change as a result.
Well done to the Mozambicans for transforming what was once seen as a backward part of Africa into today’s progressive outlook!
This is the Mozambique Zimbabweans used to laugh at.
The son of Mozambique's first president told me that he used to be bullied when he was at school in Zimbabwe at Hartman House in the 1980s, and taunted because of how his classmates thought they were ahead of Mozambique.

@joseph_kalimbwe So you think that people qualify to the Olympics through political connections? What a shameful and vile post this is against talented runners who have lived nowhere close to political influence. You've gone overboard with your posts. Aim them at Zany-PF & Charamba, no problem.

#TheMnangagwaParadox
Despite coming to power through a military coup in November 2017, President Emmerson Mnangagwa now claims to be a "constitutionalist".
People are asking how can a coup-leader or a putschist
be a constitutionalist at the same time - a mutually exclusive situation.
They say this is an oxymoron; a paradox to be more precise.
A constitutionalist is someone who embraces not just the constitution and constitutional text, but constitutionalism; the letter and spirit of the constitution.
Constitutionalism is different from a constitution and a constitutional text.
As James T. Shotwell was fond of saying, every country has a constitution, most countries have a constitutional text, but few have constitutionalism.
Zimbabwe has a constitution - a good one at that - and clear constitutional text, but it lacks constitutionalism.
A constitution, narrowly defined, is the arrangement of public institutions and powers within a nation-state.
As Aristotle came to use term, a constitution refers to a way of political life.
A constitutional text is the document that spells out a nation's basic political principles, institutional arrangements, separation of power, protection of rights and rule of law.
Constitutionalism is the idea that government power must be clearly defined and limited to ensure accountability, while protecting individual liberties and preventing arbitrary rule.
It serves as the foundation for good democratic governance, ensuring power is exercised in a responsible and accountable manner, in accordance with established laws, principles and values.
Mnangagwa neither respects the constitution, its text nor constitutionalism, meaning his claims are far-fetched, unfounded or simply false.
