I genuinely don't blame Toby for rarely interacting with the community because you could be as clear, polite and genuine as possible explaining completely understandable things to your community and still get shit like this dismissing literally all of it

@BlueComedia @TextopOnDaTwitr He adressed this in his response im pretty sure, he has nothing agaisnt fan translations, but making it official wouldnt be a good idea because he cant actually check if it still matches his vison

@realstrzala @TextopOnDaTwitr undertale and deltarune have their prices localized on all the major gaming platforms, thats part of localization, we're just missing the translation so people not fortunate enough to understand english/or japanese could also experience the game

Unpopular take maybe? But the idea that art made within one culture MUST be made accessible to every other group is absurd and anti-art. I mean us Turkish speakers have even less translations than Hispanophones, yet I’ve never seen the equivalent of this meltdown in Turkey?

@realstrzala @TextopOnDaTwitr this really shouldnt be a novelty, its quite really the minimum there are multiple fanmade translations that work just fine and catch the humour of the game on a sufficient level, he could at the very least, use those in the game, giving credits to the people who made it

@BlueComedia @StarkyTheSald @Superbaki4 @Jaereku yeah those were translated by completely separate people after they were finished. Deltarune is not finished. also when you read a spanish translation of a great classic novel, you are essentially reading a fan translation, not an official one.

@CastleAmethyst @StarkyTheSald @Superbaki4 @Jaereku yes you'd be right, but its normally at the earliest of translations, you can pretty easily find a really accurate version that is more recent, the english vocabulary is not extensive neither deep to a point where you LOSE some words of their meaning, this is a non-issue.

In Toby's official statement he said he would eventually look into a solution, not that he would never do so 😭

@HistoryMjr76 @StarkyTheSald @Superbaki4 @Jaereku there are multiple fanmade translations of undertale that were made completely for free and by fans, i never faced an issue with comprehending the game that way, why couldnt toby hire professional translators to do it for him, or like, simply use the already done fan-translation?

@binou3333 @Jaereku you need those things in the base game, because just like i said, not everyone can MOD the game AT ALL, the console versions are not moddable to a viable extent, you know that.

@binou3333 @Jaereku i know there are fanmade translations, and that just enrichens my point, its not like the game cant be translated, infact if toby simply asked for perms to use said translation and put it as an update, i think that would be more than good! however this is not our case.
