I remember taking about politics with my parents when I was a kid. My dad required “respect” of mother points of view in conversation. Wow- did I grow up in a different era.

@thomsinger Wear a nametag everywhere. Meeting people is easier, and people treat you better when they know your name. (Return the favor, of course.)

You know what is hard? Talking to strangers. But after you do it- some become people you know. It’s easier to talk to people you know. We have lots of loneliness and disconnectedness… we need us all to lead an effort toward belonging!

@thomsinger I think it's a combo of pressure from hostiles and misguided support for the oppressed that only exacerbates their situation.

@Bruce4Good True- not all are bad. But not sure how local councils think they know complex international issues. Maybe fix things here.

Is our Austin city council really planning on passing some resolution about the war in Gaza? How does a bunch of city council People in texas think they have any influence that will do anything . I have spent dozens of hours reading about this conflict and cannot understand the complexity- so how do they think they are experts? This is why elected officials are a joke.

Antisemitism is always wrong and always hate based. The far right and far left seem to both be finding ways to ignore antisemitism. 70 years ago people justified reasons to ignore antisemitism- we cannot look away this time.
