Last week, we dedicated 3 days to engaging with members of the Referral Points Network in Kampala — including government institutions and CSOs supporting survivors of VAW. Together, we exchanged best practices and strengthened collaboration for more effective responses to VAW.

Today, on #WorldHealthDay, we think about what health really looks like for women at the grassroots, especially those who are working while caring for their families. As these street cleaners share the challenges they face, it’s a reminder that many working mothers, including breastfeeding women, often navigate long hours, limited support, and little space to meet their own health needs. Our work continues to push for environments that recognize, support, and protect women’s health and dignity as they work. 💚 #UNWomenProject

During the launch of the 2025 Annual Crime Report at the Uganda Police headquarters in Naguru, attended by our ED,Josephine Kamisya, the data presented underscored that significant work remains to ensure all forms of violence are effectively addressed,and prevented.

Now more than ever, we cannot work alone, we can hardly afford to. That is why coalitions like these are so important. Today, we joined fellow members of the Domestic Violence Act Coalition to plan for the year ahead, including Women’s Day activities and our collective demands. 💪🏾 The DVA Coalition brings together institutions working in different capacities to support and strengthen the implementation of the Domestic Violence Act. 📖

The Referral points engagement was officially opened by the Deputy RDC, Rebecca Babirye, whose remarks underscored the urgency of coordinated, district-led action to address Gender-Based Violence within the evolving realities of climate change. #preventVAW

We are in Pallisa this week for a 3 day Training of Referral Points Network Members (Response Pillar). Our focus is on stronger coordination, enhanced survivor-centered response, improved frontline capacity, and deeper integration between climate and GBV programming.
