Some people defend Adorno's views on jazz on the grounds that he wrote "On Jazz" in 1936, before artsier styles like bebop and modal jazz came along, but I looked into it and it turns out he wrote another piece reiterating his critique, "Perennial Fashion: Jazz" in 1953!
