@itsdayagain @Auki @decredproject Haha we definitely did not know about that. I just checked with my designer and he swears he didn't know, and I believe him honestly. We went back and forth on a few variations for a while too. Oh well, we're not in crypto so I doubt we'll cross paths much anyway

@CTRLR_cloud Nice work on the 1-minute setup that's genuinely impressive for ROS🫡 The simulated environment is a smart move; security policies block a lot of potential users from ever trying new tools, so removing that barrier should open things up

The most important part of getting our product in the hands of new users is reducing friction. Currently, anyone with a robot using ROS can get up and running within ~1 minute. PRETTY SOLID This week we're adding a simulated environment so you don't have to download our agent directly to your robot (good for people who want to try CTRL+R but can't due to business security policy) AND adding additional control features for more advanced robots. Large brands have hundreds of employees per region whose job it is to drive to each store and inspect the placement of their products. Soon with Cactus they'll be able to do the inspection remotely. This use case is so valuable they may just buy the robot for the stores.

Why create a robotics startup when you've got so many robotics/AI companies with tens of millions to BILLIONS in funding? How could we ever compete with them? ->Because there are still industries that these behemoths are missing, like retail, construction, agriculture, mining, and many more. Robots are still EXPENSIVE AND DIFFICULT TO USE, and there's no continuity from one robot to the next. So our whole schtick is this: we make it easy to use ANY kind of robot. 🤖 Every industry should be benefitting from automated labor, but progress is slow because there's no continuity between robot manufacturers, there's no clear ROI, or it's just too damn complicated for normies. We're here to fix that.

After working as CEO of @Modulr_Robotics for the past ~7 months, I have officially stepped away to build @CTRLR_cloud - one unified platform to control and coordinate robots at scale. Ultimately, @Theundline and I came to an agreement whereby I would buy out Modulr's robotics technology stack (which we've been developing since I started) and use it as the foundation for CTRL+R. Note: CTRL+R has no blockchain component. I am super thankful to Chris for giving me the opportunity to lead Modulr in a new and challenging space: robotics. Along the way, I've discovered a passion for robots I never knew I had. It's been amazing to talk to so many engineers and discover problems that still need solving in the space.
