Jongens installeer nooit een VPN client op je computer. Echt nooit nooit, het verneukt je hele systeem en het heeft z’n tentakeltjes overal. Weiger VPN te allen tijde. Als je werk het van je eist, neem ontslag, echt. Je gaat me dankbaar zijn. Vooral FortiClient, blijf daar weg

The virtual studio makes it possible to broadcast from unusual locations. However, the experience differs from what radio hosts are used to in classical radio studios, hence we also support hardware controllers with faders to provide a more similar experience.

The first project I worked on at my new job is now in production 🎉: an ultra-portable radio studio for remote broadcasts. The software serves as a controller for the large amount of equipment that used to be brought to the remote locations.

When it's faster to re-run your whole test suite locally than to wait for GitHub Actions to load the whole build log and locate the error message 🤦‍♀️

@otaviolemos @laci_noire They were secretly not actually transparent 🤫 but had a black background that the switcher "keyed" out (which did mean I had to use very dark grey instead of black on the slides😅). Pretty sure you can do something similar with a tool like OBS :)

I actually used a hardware video switcher (ATEM Mini Extreme) as the heart of the operation, Keynote for the slides, and QLab for video playback and to tie everything together so that I only had to press a single button to trigger the next video/slide/transition etc. :)

@laci_noire @CasperBoone Amazing presentation! Did you use StreamYard for those camera transitions? Or OBS perhaps? Really good: congrats! (The thesis theme itself is really good too! 😄)
