@largehusband @Peterson_IsKing It's not NY baseball fans, it's MAGA who turn every single shitty thing that happens, even a bad baseball team, into a personal grievance built around people not liking MAGA.

@IllWillLI @The7Line The fact that you all think anyone in the org honestly gives a shit about this is hilarious to me. Plenty of critcism of this team and FO to go around right now, but a photo op with a mascot and a player's wife serving on a "transition committee" aint the cause of it.

This is horseshit. There are plenty of reasons to pile on the Mets right now, this isn't one of them. Pretty sure this was an 11 pitch at bat. Mr. Smile, Francisco Lindor, had a great AB here. Fouled off a bunch of pitches. The smile here is basically to Ohtani, "you got me".
New York Post Sports@nypostsports

Francisco Lindor was seen smiling after being struck out by Shohei Ohtani. There's certainly nothing to smile about the way the Mets have been playing. Read more: trib.al/RCy5jtp

Katia Lindor does not play baseball. Katia Lindor does not have any say in baseball operations. Katia Lindor is not the reason why the Mets suck
PASQUALE F@PASQUALEFO69435

@Peterson_IsKing There is something fundamentally wrong with this team and it all starts and ends with Francisco and his wife Katia Mamdani

@bleednucksblue I don’t doubt it’s true but last night also exposed the high risk of having guys out of position when the margin of error is nil because your offense is nonexistent. Typically teams do this because the bats make up for the risk. That hasn’t happened yet.

For all the run prevention isn’t working the Mets are 4th in DRS and 12th in OAA. It’s drastically better than 2025.

@TurkStevens @nickythegood I'm not disagreeing but what is honestly an "analytics offense." For the life of me why this consistently seems to be a Mets problem when all the top teams use analytics right now.

@nickythegood Its both. The analytics offense will never work, as the #Mets prove year after year. And having Baty and Vientos play defense is also a major fail, as those 2 prove year after year

@Jolly_Olive That Baty AB just now where he took three pitches down the middle after being up 3-0 has me livid. Starting to think Baty ain't gonna cut it.

@AlbaneseLaura This evening, SNY broadcast a look back on the OMG/Grimace year and I have to say that was my favorite team of the decade. They had that spark, that chemistry that you can’t buy. I just haven’t seen that je ne sais quoi that helps make a team special since then.

Run prevention is great. But it means nothing if you can't score any. It's too early to overreact, but you can't fault fans from feeling the aftershocks of yesteryear, and we've learned all too well that sometimes, it only takes one game. newsday.com/sports/columni…

Bichette has been terrible but handled questions just about perfectly. Candid about "wanting a moment," meaning putting pressure on himself. When asked about being booed, smiled, said he was surprised it took fans that long, bad as he was. Good sign for being able to handle NY.

@SNY_Mets @WillSammon If you walk a lot and the other team doesn't, you're gonna win a lot of games. Too bad Peterson and Manana are gonna give the other teams that advantage when we're stuck with them in the games.

@DanBartels2 Sometimes you have to go out of your comfort zone. Give Bellinger the most years and best deal. He fills so many needs. Let him grow old with Soto and lindor.

With the markets for Alex Bregman and Cody Bellinger likely moving out of the Mets’ comfort zone, pivoting to the Japanese market for offense, Munetaka Murakami and/or Kazuma Okamoto, may be in the Mets’ best interest.
