@jakeskorheim Hi Jake, love your show and remember when you worked for Dori. I agree with cell phone ban, but i also point out that when watching your 12-3 show on youtube, the first thing you do when you go to break, you...pick up your phone and start scrolling.

When I was in high school in the early 2000s, there was a smoke shack on campus. An actual designated smoking area for students to grab a quick drag between classes. By then, it was defunct — a rusty relic with a “No Smoking” sign hanging nearby — but it was still standing, a monument to how fast “totally acceptable” can become “what were we thinking?”… mynorthwest.com/kiro-opinion/s…

Something fun for your Sunday evening: what are your “must see films?” If you had three movies that you think are “essential” - what would they be? Here are three of my essential films with emojis: 🤖🤠👨‍🚀 - think Pixar 🌳 - think Malick 🦖🦕 - you know this one

This is what it’s all about 🫶 Before kickoff, Georgi spent time with three Make-A-Wish Vancouver triplets, Mason, Luke, and Thomas, a real exchange of inspiration. #Rapids96

I actually got started in the 60s, but, things didn't change as fast back then. My parents were poor: never had a Big Wheel but other kids did and I rode theirs and yes...I remember wearing out the front "tire." Banana seats? Oh yeah. Jumping like Knievel? Of course! Matchbox cars galore (still have a box of them). Come in when the streetlights came on? Universal. Drink from the hose? Truly glorious. Saturday morning cartoons? Scooby Doo, where are you?

@brookskcbsradio Great time to remind Costco customers that use can use either side of the pump lines. You don't need to have your cap nearest the pump.

@mookiealexander Did they have a shot at Budda Baker or Trent McDuffie? Or were those just poor timing regarding needs and/or draft position?

The Seahawks have only ever taken a Washington Huskies player in the first or second round of a draft one time. And it was Jerramy freakin' Stevens. The next two highest drafted Huskies in Seahawks history were linebacker Michael Jackson in 1979 and Brock Huard in 1999.

@JacksonOnRadio It's astounding to me that NBA team valuations are on par with NFL teams. It does not seem accurate.

1930s NYC vs today? It’s not one factor. Obesity rates in the U.S. were relatively low until the late 1970s, then rose sharply from the 1980s onward. What changed: – Ultra-processed foods & larger portions – Sugary drinks (major growth post-1970s) – Lower daily physical activity – Food environment & accessibility Different system, different outcomes.

@JacksonOnRadio Ragen is in the Chad Marshall zone i guess. Was it just lack of familiarity that he didn't get the call? Because Ream isn't even close to Ragen when you evaluate current form (over past 1-1/2 club seasons at least).

Looking at the roster as a whole, it's starting to feel extremely likely Cristian Roldan will be on the World Cup roster. Poch is done figuring out who should go on the roster, and is now building the cohesion within the roster.

@StationCDRKelly @zanehkoch Not necessarily a good thing though. Cancer cells have telomeres and so "better" telomeres could increase cancer risk?

When I was on the ISS for my nearly year long mission, there was a telomere experiment comparing my telomeres to my earth baseline and my twin brother as a control. Hypothesis was they would get damaged and worse due to the environment. Turns out they got better. Initially NASA thought maybe it was due to exercise and diet. After I returned we learned JAXA had a telomere experiment on some small worms the same time I was there. Their telomeres got better too. Never saw the worms doing any exercise. After further study determined it was the radiation.

for a while i've had a slight fear that the bluetooth from my airpods could be frying my brain this weekend i pulled the raw data from a $30m government study of 1,679 mice blasted with cell phone radiation and reanalyzed it what i found was...not what I expected? 🧵
