We hope everyone had a great Mardi Gras break! 💜💛💚 We were lucky enough to spend some of ours with the amazing students at L.P. Vaughn Elementary and their families for a Mardi Gras celebration 🫶
Thank you to the teachers and staff at L.P. Vaughn for having us! 🤘
@ImCollegeSoccer Post should start: “If your a shitty/not very good coach and want to survive in the new era/new normal of college soccer.” I guess this list is one way. Or you could actually recruit and develop talent, create a culture players don’t want to leave, maintain integrity.
College Coaches, if you want to survive in the New Era/New Normal of College Soccer:
1. You have to be willing to cut players who can’t play. Do you want to feed their family or your family?
2. Raise NIL funds or get left behind.
3 Embrace the transfer portal or get left behind.
4. Don’t worry about tampering. That’s out the window too.
5. Hire Assistant Coaches that can evaluate talent. No more favors to a friend to put somone on staff.
6. Focus on Winning NOW, not long-term development. Your AD doesn’t care or give you the time to do it before they let you go. They want results now.
7. Negative recruiting is at an All-time high. Your competition that’s consistently beating you is doing it and they don’t care. They are getting recruits however they can get them and still shaking your hand at recruiting events. 😉
8. Eliminate staff who can’t coach, lazy, or don’t have your same vision. You don’t have time to babysit.
9. Recruiting is your lifeline. You need to grind it out and be at every college recruiting event.
The new era/new normal is not for the kindhearted. College athletics is shown you it is a Business more so now than ever before. Adapt to the new era or get out and start a podcast.
Good luck everyone! Here’s to the New Year 🥂🍻
