Assassinating heads of state has been taboo since at least the Treaty of Westphalia. There are a number of very practical reasons it's a very bad idea. For one, it makes it near impossible for states to negotiate. It also galvanizes public opinion (in places such as Iran) behind the regime. It's seen as an attack on the whole people.

In Chinese political discourse, this essentially means "yes."

I sat down with @briebriejoy to expand on the video post I made a few days ago and to answer questions regarding the specific posts I've made that offend the sensibilities of some. This will be the only further commentary I'm going to make on this matter. I wasn't going to talk about it beyond my post, but as there were still unanswered questions, I thought perhaps this could help clarify my position, because there still seems to be a gap in the way people understand the ways in which power and powerless can give the same words different weight and even different meaning. Most of the injuries among American soldiers are brain concussions. 207 injured soldiers have returned to duty, and 10 are in the category of serious injuries.
