Hey @utahjazz I don't think I'm alone in saying I'd much rather watch the team try to win and only win 25 games than tank for the 5th pick. The @NBA getting harder to keep an interest in.

I won't say negligence but I will say poor programming and 100% avoidable. 800m is not a short distance to swim in a pool, let alone in open water after a 20+ minute threshold effort in the heat. And to top it off, no one saw him go down. Hard to believe, really. RIP Lazar.

@Sethgolfs @Deantree3 @CrossFitGames ...and let's not forget these guys aren't triathletes. Amazing, incredibly fit athletes? Yes. Swimmers? Not really. Hindsight is 20/20 but it just seems silly. Not to mention the heat. Anyways, my heart goes out to Lazar's family. This really sucks.

@Deantree3 @CrossFitGames The event itself is no more dangerous than anything else involving water. You may have a point with the safety measures or lack of, but villifying the event itself is not an educated take. People unfortunately have issues like this somewhat regularly in triathlons.

Swimming 800m in open water while trying to get your breath after a 20+ minute run @ threshold is absurd. There's a reason the leg that is most likely to kill you comes before the others in triathlon.

That's what I'm saying!!! Like make them swim first not run, exhaust your legs and lungs... THEN go to open water and go fast to try to get the most points.. Straight up stupid planning on their end. They only had people with freakin paddle boards and only a few. Straight negligence.
