@NashTalksTexas For a river that’s prone to flash flooding, proven many times in ‘recent’ history,my question is whydo all these summer camps house campers well within the flood plain?Maybe you didn’t need to invest millions in a flood warning system, maybe just don’t build so close to the water.
English

In 2016 Kerr County opted against adding an expensive flood warning system that would raise alarms when the river upstream hit a certain level.
It is hard to not think that many if not all of these 59 confirmed lives could be still alive and well…
This is not a political post towards either side. If that is your angle something is deeply wrong with you.
In the coming propositions similar to this, regardless of state/community…the question of does it cost too much may not be the right one. Maybe we should be asking is it a price worthy of saving lives.
RIP to all those lost.

LATEST: At least 59 are dead in the Kerr Count Flooding. 11 campers, 1 counselor still missing. @FOX4 #txwx

@thatsKAIZEN Would an example be when a news headline is “(politician name) FALSLEY claims this did/did not happen”?
I.e. report the headline and what was said, do not tell me how I should interpret it

@thatsKAIZEN @elonmusk @realDonaldTrump Always thought politicians and the squabble between countries was so childish. Exhibit A. And for it to be with 2 of the most influential humans on the planet…crazy
English

@elonmusk @realDonaldTrump This is unnecessary. You already had the more principled position.
English

@CJVogel_OTF @NashTalksTexas I don’t know much about softball but if that’s a rule it’s a bad one.
English

@NashTalksTexas I don’t know man. It would have been impossible for him to run out to center field instead of sliding halfway to the base? Watching real time it looked like a total panic.
English

@DOGE is like watching your first born play tee ball. You want him to succeed. You think he will. Dems over here hoping their own son strikes out and does a face plant while doing it.
English

@NashTalksTexas Nice throw but maybe less deep balls to the corner that runs off down a steep hill.

@thghtsatrandom @_treycole1 @brycenhall6 @tengland_150 This shot came from the right of the rim. Hit the side of the rim. It never had any chance of going in. If a ball hits the side of the rim it’s not “in the cylinder”. It then bounced off the side of the rim when the player touched. God bless you guys can’t be this dumb.
English

@_treycole1 @thghtsatrandom @brycenhall6 @tengland_150 So you are sure, without any doubt that this ball is touching the rim? From this angle? Like, it’s not possible that if you got a view from the front that there isn’t 1” of space between the ball and the iron. You cannot tell from this photo.
English

@thghtsatrandom @Sethgolfs @brycenhall6 @tengland_150 You are correct, therefore, goaltending. I was just providing the goal tending rule to show that this is clearly goaltending.
English

@brycenhall6 @tengland_150 Correct. This ball hit the OUTSIDE of the rim and bounced further away from the point it touched. Cylinder does go all the way to the rafters but this ball was never in the cylinder. You guys are nuts.
English

@Sethgolfs @tengland_150 it doesn’t matter if it is touching the rim. if any part of the ball is floating above the inside of the rim it is in the cylinder. the cylinder extends all the way to the rafters brother.
English

@brycenhall6 @tengland_150 It’s not “in the cylinder”, it would be “on the rim”. But, I don’t know you can, without a doubt, say this ball is touching the rim from this angle. We can agree to disagree it is/isn’t but for you guys to get on here and say it’s textbook is silly.
English

@Sethgolfs @tengland_150 the fact the ball is still in contact with the rim when he touches it, and that the rim is in contact with roughly the midpoint of the ball means that half of the ball is in the cylinder. i mean use common sense brother

English

@karndogs @tengland_150 You are simply wrong. There’s many ways this could have been textbook. This aligns to none of those. If the ball hits the side of the rim, bounces to the side, even 1”, then is touched, its not a goaltend. If it bounced up, or never touched the rim at all, your point would be valid.
English

@Sethgolfs @tengland_150 The ball is still considered in the cylinder. That’s as textbook of a goaltender as can be.
English

@brycenhall6 @tengland_150 I don’t know how you can possibly be so definitive from this angle. What I’m going off of is the ball hitting the side of the rim and bouncing sideways away from it before he touched it. Just physics. This play happened at 2-0 so meant nothing to the outcome.
English

@Sethgolfs @tengland_150 i mean it isn’t something that is up for interpretation😭half of the ball is inside the rim
English

@brycenhall6 @tengland_150 Explain. The ball is coming down, but the ball has caromed off the rim and is not in the cylinder. Had it not hit the rim you have a point but it did.
English

@Sethgolfs @tengland_150 that is as clear a goaltend as you’ll have
