7 of the next 9 Sharks games are against teams NOT currently in a playoff position. It’s do or die time if the Sharks are going to squeeze into the playoffs. With 15 games left, I’m thinking the Sharks need at least 9 wins, probably more like 10 to get in the playoffs.

No. It isn’t. Dickinson bodies Zucker. Just like the coaches tell him to. There’s very little he can do to “take him out”. The only way would have been to take a penalty. People keep pretending the other player doesn’t have a say and that’s absolutely absurd. Dickinson comes back hard after a stupid turnover. Zucker holds up for a second at the blue line. Dick is the only one back because Mario is in no man’s land, so he has to hold up so Zucker doesn’t have the center lane to take straight to the net. Zucker sees this and, like a smart player, as soon as Dick holds up, Zucker starts driving down the wall, so Sam doesn’t even have time to end the play without risking getting beat along the boards and being behind Zucker with a clear lane to the net. So as he’s driving down, Sam bodies him up and pushes him to the outside where the only play is a pass. Could he have done more to prevent the pass? Maybe. Maybe it still gets through regardless. But that’s not a goal if Mario is in position and not puck watching, or any of the other four players on the ice got their asses back after the turnover. Instead Dahlin beats everyone up the ice. Which is utterly inexcusable and not Sam’s fault. There is a reason after the 2nd period he got back onto the ice. I guarantee you the coaches reviewed the tape and realized it wasn’t remotely his fault. As for the assertion that Sam all the time does a lot of little things that result in goals against. That’s entirely false. On occasion he screws up (far less than Ferraro, Klingberg, Leddy, Muhk or Orlov), which is to be expected. But relative to the team the Sharks goaltending has a far lower save percentage when he’s on the ice. Partially because he’s unlucky but partially because he’s mostly deployed with bottom six (primarily the 4th line), who give up slot shots in droves and can’t catch an outlet pass to save their lives.

@CyclonePilot06 @Moz_Morris It sure is. Ferraro makes plenty of mistakes too, game after game though Dickinson is doing little things that are resulting in goals against. Will he get better, I expect so, but we shouldn’t be pretending they aren’t happening or getting all “what about” when it’s called out.

The coach is a fucking retard that said Graf Celebrini Smith doesn’t work and then as soon as he puts them back together the Sharks start scoring again. Same coach who thought putting everything in a line blender was a recipe for success. Same coach who thought pairing Dickinson and Ferraro was a good idea. No. Don’t trust stupid coaches.

You pretend there isn’t another player that’s had a decade in the NHL going up against Dickinson. Have you ever played hockey? Do you know how hard it is to just kill the play? It’s damn near impossible, especially in the situation Dickinson was in after the play turned the other way. He couldn’t just bury him and kill the play without taking a penalty. Stop listening to Drew and the Sharks beat writers. They are idiots and actively make Sharks fans dumber. Instead listen guys like Moz who are intelligent and think the game well.

Dickinson wasn’t the problem. You’re wrong. Just admit it and retract like an honest journalist with any integrity would.

Absurd take. He bodies him up and it’s enough to prevent a fairly soft pass into the slot that is easily intercepted or cleared if Ferraro was in position at all or otherwise not puck watching. You’re pretending like Zucker isn’t an NHL player with a decade of experience and strength training up against a 19 year old. Gtfoh.
