@K_Nick_97 @AlDaugereaux Gifted? We still got the equivalent of two first round picks which then turned into Askarov, the top goalie prospect at the time. That was literally the best Grier could do in that situation.

Hello Darkness My Old Friend Kyle
I will forever be furious with Mike Girer for essentially gifting Hertl to vegas and eating salary for his entire contract for the privilege of doing so. Absolutely idiotic deal.

@NHLRumourReport I would go with Misa over Eklund. Eklund is turning into one of the best young shutdown forwards in the league, and they seem to value that quite a bit in San Jose, being a very analytics-driven team and all

Jeff Marek: Re Sharks: If they keep the pick, I don't necessarily think they take a defenseman, but if they take a forward, I think they use one of their other young players, William Eklund might be the obvious one here, to go out and get a defenseman - Sekeres & Price (5/8)

@2MINIHULK I think the Sharks are “closer” than people think. If Asky can take a leap forward and the Sharks can bring in 2 good dmen, that along with our young players having another year of experience we could easily at least be a division contender next year.

@pepitoluver Yea let’s definitely delete the sport because an old creepy guy was gross via Zoom. Absolutely represents the sport as a whole and everyone associated with it.

@Adamkblat 0 chance this happens. Everyone knows there is a decent drop off after 9/10. Sharks would miss out on all the high end d-men and the elite level forward in Stenberg to get more mid-first round picks? How does it make sense for the Sharks? (It doesn’t)

The team that makes the most sense to trade up to second is the St. Louis Blues. They have picks 11 and 15 plus Ivar Stenberg's brother Otto is already part of the organization.

@Blutch88 Well I agree in the Dellandrea deal not being needed but the Sharks have plenty of cap space and 6–8M is no longer a big contract. With the cap at 104M contracts are going to grow.

@markEmarkSJS Sherwood got almost 6mil for 1 good season at 30yo, dellandrea was given a raise when he should have been sent into the sun. I just hope the people speculating a kaprisov size contract for celebrini are wrong.

@markEmarkSJS Yeah… I get that hesitation entirely. Then again we haven’t ever drafted a D inside the top 10.

Totally not rigged: Chicago, New York, LA, San Jose, Toronto, and New York winning draft lotteries and not the small market teams losing the lottery over and over. Turns out the NHL lottery balls favor the ones helping the league’s bottom line.

@CyclonePilot06 I would love that too, but I honestly don’t have faith in the Sharks developing a high end dman. Would love to be wrong but I haven’t seen any signs of that opinion changing yet.

@markEmarkSJS PS. I also don’t care as much about immediate top pair impact from anyone older than 28. Would rather develop top pair D into our stars primes, and supplement them with middle and bottom pair D.

@Blutch88 Who are we giving huge piles of cash to? Name 1? Our highest contract right now is Toffoli at 6M and Orlov at 6.5M. Not a single Shark has been given a huge pile of cash. Is 40-50 pts for a dman low expectations these days? Have you seen the Sharks dman the last few seasons?

@markEmarkSJS Can we stop giving huge piles of cash for low expectations? None of the guys on the habs first line make 8mil, fkin Lane Hutson makes less than 9, can we take these guys as example instead of becoming the leafs 2.0?

@robert342176 Yea I think he settles as a 10-15 goal 40-50 pt dman. That is exactly what we need and worth 10M in my mind. Just not for full term. 4-5 years

@markEmarkSJS The 2 years he had before this year were really good! I badly wanted to get him! This year was unreal and not sustainable. I expect the next 2-3 years he lands around 40-50 points before he starts to regress but I’m 100% on board with Raddysh 9 mil 6 years!

@CyclonePilot06 While I want to see those two in the NHL, I want immediate impact and Raddysh is that. A top pairing dman is worth 10M these days. No top pairing dman will be signing for 7M going forward.

@markEmarkSJS At 30 years old… 3 years at most. Also hard pass on $10M for one good season. I’ll give him $7m and not a penny more. Otherwise pass and just let Pohlkamp and Cagnoni run the offense for the time being.

@HProductionsYYC @Buckfoston Untapped market? Hockey has been there for 35 years. In the late 90’s and early 00’s the Sharks held the records for longest sellout streaks. When good the Sharks have always been supported. This isn’t some untapped market.
